Home

Tonight at about 7:30 Dad's body stopped breathing. Brent and Mom were by his side as he took his last breath, and Wendy had been with him today. We have great comfort in knowing that his soul is in Heaven with his God and Savior. I am so thankful for the Hope we have in Jesus Christ of eternal life and we are assured that Dad knew that Hope. We will miss him greatly. It still is hard to comprehend that Dad won't be with us anymore. But we will see him again- what a day that will be.

Thanks to each one of you for your love and support during this time.

Our prayers are with you all.

Matthew says that you shall know a tree by it's fruit. A good tree does not bear bad fruit. I think that Jerry's tree stands tall in Heaven tonight. He has produced good fruit. His life was devoted to service, and the fruits of that service are visible to everyone who knew him. The fruits of his family are also good fruits. They continue to be a blessing to others, even in these trying times.

Rejoice, for to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Jerry has gone on to his gain, and all of us have gained by his life here. I look forward to meeting him again someday.

Prayers and Blessings are being said for your whole family. May God hold you in the palm of his hand during this time. Thank you for sharing this journey and for your witness of a faithful and loving family.

We are praying for you. There is a verse in the Bible that I clung to when I lost my grandfather many years ago...

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

I, too, hope this brings comfort to you.

Lucy Beth and Family -

I am sorry Jerry is no longer with you. But I know you are all relieved his struggle is over.

He touched many people in his life time and will not be forgotten.

I am not sure that I ever met a kinder man than Jerry Hinkle. Our family is praying that God will comfort all of you as only He can do during this time. Please know that so many people love you and support you now.

I met Bro. Jerry in a deacons conference that I led in Amarillo. He was a great man of God, and a sterling example. I was honored to visit with him on the phone just about 2 weeks before all this unfolded. What a gem of a man. I know the church, and the family will miss him terribly, but I also know God has called home a great steward to serve in Heaven
